Let Us Show You Who We Are

Welcome to one of the best kept secrets in East Texas,(but not for long.)  The collections and events at The Gaston Museum are second to none. You are cordially invited to stroll through our Museum, tent house, gas station and outdoor exhibits where you will literally go back in time. We have recreated a special time when people  worked hard, lived in humble surroundings, experienced the overnight explosion of the largest oil strike in East Texas and the largest Rural School in the world at that time.  Our hands on exhibits allow you to fully experience and understand just what it was like back then.

 

Our ever-growing Education Day program is dedicated to expanding our youth's knowledge. Ultimately, we are in the business of education, and we believe in providing learning experiences for children and educational opportunities for adults. With our temporary exhibits and events, as well as our permanent collections, we are sure that everyone will leave our Museum with a new knowledge and a love of history.
